Volunteer Time Slots

Volunteers must create a Sci-Tech Patron ID through our online sales calendar to sign-up for time slots. No charge will be applied for this program.

If you have created a Sci-Tech Patron ID, please keep a record of the login information to use for future sign-ups.

If you have already volunteered with us and need to verify your hours, you can submit a request form below!

If you require a specific form signed you are responsible for either emailing it or setting up a time to get it signed at Sci-Tech.

Please note that if you fail to show up to 3 volunteer shifts, your account will be suspended. To speak about removing account suspensions, please call/email us.

Volunteers who do not properly represent Sci-Tech Discovery Center or meet the volunteer requirements will be asked to leave regardless of the completion of their shift.


Lend a hand at Sci-Tech Discovery Center and make an important difference to the thousands of children and families we reach each year. Volunteers are an essential part of the Sci-Tech team, and we have opportunities to suit almost every schedule and interest.

Sci-Tech General Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be in high school or older
  • Provide a background check with criminal history (18+)
  • Friendly and enthusiastic
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Willing to commit to the full set of hours specified by each shift
  • Willing to stay off their phone while volunteering
  • Willing to assist museum staff in tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and facilitating STEM programs
  • Dressed appropriately:
    • long pants
    • closed-toed shoes
    • hair pulled back
    • clothing without inappropriate logos or words

Volunteer slots will open two weeks before the volunteer date. They are first come first served and cannot be reserved.

Sign-Up Instructions:

  1. Create a Sci-Tech Patron ID using our Sales Calendar.
  2. Record your login information for future use.
  3. Email a copy of your background check to volunteer@scitechdiscovery.org (18+ only).
  4. Select a shift and go through the registration process (no charge is associated with the program, but you must add it to your cart).
  5. Verify that you received an email confirming your shift.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. If you need to cancel a shift, please call or email us so that we can reopen the shift for others.
  2. If we do not hear from you at least 24 hours before the start of your shift, then it will be considered a no-show.
  3. After 3 no-shows, your account will be suspended.
