Assistant Summer Camp Manager

Job Type: Seasonal

Sci-Tech Discovery Center is looking for an energetic individual with outstanding educational skills, customer service and professionalism. This seasonal staff will assist our Summer Camp Manager with our onsite camp program. The candidate will be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant STEM field with experience in a camp setting. Interested parties must be available Monday through Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. We seek individuals who are available immediately through August 9. Candidates are expected to:

  • Manage Early Hour and regular camp check-in
  • Oversee camper lunch-time
  • Supervise camp staff and volunteers
  • Manage camp supplies and classrooms
  • Manage other day-to-day functions of the camp
  • Maintain professional attitude and tidy appearance
  • Communicate with supervisor on supply & programatic needs
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift approx 50 lbs required
  • Clean background check required
  • 40 hrs / week

Maker Space Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Sci-Tech Discovery Center is looking for an energetic individual with outstanding skills in STEM education, problem-solving, hands-on making and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of managerial experience and at least 3 years of experience working in a maker space environment (or similar) with skills in associated software, machines and tools, such as CAD, CNC, laser cutter and 3D printers. The Maker Space Manager will:

  • Design and deliver Maker Space, Mobile Maker and Maker workshop programming collaboratively with Sci-Tech Education staff
  • Build new exhibits and maintain/enhance existing exhibits
  • Operate and maintain a safe and clean Maker Space workshop environment and individual tools and machines
  • Develop and deliver training programs to guests, Sci-Tech employees and volunteers on workshop safety, hand and power tools and more sophisticated fabrication tools and devices (CNC, laser cutter, 3D printers, etc.); personally stay current in knowledge and training
  • Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party tool vendors and other business and community organizations relating to the Maker Space safety, operation, and maintenance
  • Manage the set-up and clean-up of the shared classroom space or other temporary space when used for maker programs)
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift approx 50 lbs required
  • Clean background check required
  • 40 hrs / week
