Sci-Tech Discovery Center is a weapons-free facility (including both open and concealed carry firearms), pursuant to Texas Penal Code Section 46.03. Signage is located at the entrance to the museum to notify visitors of this policy. The unlicensed possession of a weapon on museum premises is a felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
In the event of an emergency, all staff have been trained in exit locations and safe pathways as well as the “Run, Hide, Fight” philosophy created by the Department of Homeland Security. The Frisco Discovery Center is also located only 2 miles (approximately 6 minutes) from the Frisco Police Department.
In compliance with the ADA and Texas State Law Sci-Tech allows official service animals (SA) to accompany their handlers into the museum. Other animals, such as pets or ESA, will not be allowed.
