COMMUNITY IMPACT

Sci-Tech serves 50,000 visitors on-site and off-site each year, and many participants are kids in targeted outreach programs in underserved areas.  Our educators travel to groups around North Texas to deliver TEKS-aligned programs during and after school. Many programs are presented over several weeks, months or years to build and reinforce skills and confidence and promote STEM pathways for high school and beyond.

  • ELEMENTARY STEM PROGRAMS

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL STEM PROGRAMS

  • GIRLS-ONLY PROGRAMS

  • CUSTOMIZED OUTREACH

All participants benefit from the generous support of our sponsors and community partners that keep admission and program fees low.

WHY WE DO IT

With the generous support of our partners we bring innovative learning to kids in North Texas to build their STEM skills and confidence and spark their interest in pursuing STEM careers. Research shows that students who envision a career in a STEM field at age 13 are two to three times more likely to earn college degrees in STEM, so we seek to inspire kids while they are in elementary and middle school.

Since STEM jobs pay up to 40% more than non-STEM jobs, the spark that Sci-Tech provides helps to transform our participants’ lives by addressing career inspiration for their future economic stability.

HOW CAN PARTNERS GET INVOLVED

We welcome the chance to work together with individuals, companies and foundations to nurture kids’ curiosity and learning around STEM topics.  We also work with our partners to involve their employees in inspirational sessions that introduce our student participants to people already working in STEM fields.
