Be A Chemist with the Plano Library and Sci-Tech!

Children ages 7-12 have a unique opportunity to play the role of chemist and discover the importance of chemistry in fields like medicine, manufacturing, art, and environmental conservation. Join Plano Public Library and Sci-Tech Discovery Center for some science fun with the Be a Chemist virtual program. Classes start Saturday, Aug. 29th, and 30th, and continue on Sunday afternoons during September.

Plano Public Library is one of 27 locations across the country to host the program. Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline and offered in partnership with The Franklin Institute and UNC Morehead Planetarium, this one-hour program is hosted on Zoom and includes hands-on experiments using supplies picked up at the library one week before the program. The classes are small to provide an interactive experience, so be sure to register early.

Participants will need a computer or mobile device with internet access, a webcam, a microphone, and the Zoom app downloaded in advance. Each session covers the same information, so you may only register your child for one class.
