Museum Educator (part-time)

Sci-Tech Discovery Center is looking for an energetic educator to teach our offsite after-school STEM programs. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s in education or relevant STEM field. Interested parties must have teaching experience working with different ages of children, preferably in a science field. This is a year round, part-time position weekdays with occasional weekend special events. Off-site programs are primarily in the afternoon with some morning on-site programs at the museum. 20 hours a week. Additional availability can lead to additional hours. Candidates are expected to:

  • Deliver onsite and offsite museum STEM programs
  • Pack, unpack and tidy up supplies and spaces before and after use
  • Contribute to Ed. Dept. programming and curriculum as needed
  • Maintain professional attitude and tidy appearance
  • Communicate with supervisor on supply & programmatic needs
  • Use and communicate through Sci Tech email address and Google account
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift approx 50 lbs required
  • Driver’s license with clean record required
  • Clean background check required
  • Technology experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred

STEM Museum Assistant

You will be providing staff and customer support in many different areas. The following are qualifications required of those that are considering applying.

  • Schedule Flexibility – This position may include weekends and some evenings.

Duties will consist of but will not be limited to:

  • Exhibit Maintenance and light cleaning
  • Inventory and shop for program supplies
  • Prep for programming and special events
  • Work in the Explore Store

Salary: $10.00 to $12.00 /hour
